Journaling ARTventures!

Journaling is a journey for me.

Colorful backgrounds are a must for my journals. By now you MUST know the important role of color in my life.

I usually don't have qualms about what I enter in my journals.

There are those moments when I have to do the "scribble" in my journal! This is reserved for those rare moments when I DON'T want to make a horribly awkward situation public knowledge. I like to throw in phrases that I've cut out of magazines to add punch to my pages.

Sometimes all you need are a few phrases and a great pic to say it all! I created this page when I went a little overboard at the stamping convention. I know I'm not the only one who's been there, done that!

Sometimes I know what I want to say and other times I don't. Sometimes it doesn't matter to me that someday someone will read it and other times I do. You can probably tell which pages go with my do's and don'ts. I'm a great scribbler which works perfectly for my "I don't want anyone to ever read what this says" entries. I also have a great stash of phrases for those days when I know what I feel, but don't want to write about it. Teamed with a great pic is all I need to make this kind of entry complete. And of course, colorful washes of color always help to make an interesting page.

I understand your process. Isn't that nice? lol People who don't create "life journals or art journals" don't understand the lack of whole sentences and paragraphs.
A long time ago I discovered that if I wrote out something that I didn't really want to last after I was long gone that I just layered color over the page. Pieces of the journal words would show through but not the whole text. I knew what was there and that was really all that mattered. :)Bea

Sherry, I have to learn the restraint you used in July at the convention. You gotta bottle it! LOL! Thanks for the compliment on my pages.
Gina, I owe it all to color. My journaling would not be the same if I just wrote against a white background. I tried and it didn't feel right. Glad my pages appeal to you.

I love looking at your journals, and the colors are beautiful.

I just went to Janice's blog to see her story - wow. What an artist and what a sad story but so wonderful that she had family around her at all times. You're right...use the time we have and enjoy it!

Thanks Mim! I'm glad my love of color shows through!
Janice was an awesome artist and I felt a little shocked when I heard of her death. I had just seen a clip of her on our public television last month. Obviously recorded way before she was ill.
Thanks for visiting!

Hmmmmmmmmm maybe I need color on my pages to make me want to write more. I must have color in other areas of my life so why not on my pages?? This is a revelation to me. So glad you are able to be open about your preferences and the whys.
