BLACK CHRISTMAS TAG? Sure, why not? I was thinking jewel tones, grunge, different. The blue tag looks lighter in this picture. It was actually a dark blue tone. I later painted a dark hunter green tag. I wanted the darkest green possible so I mixed Ebony and Christmas green together.
With a little extra color and stamped images, another look developed. Now what do you think of that black tag?
Fortunately, I had some left over art doll kits from previously held workshops. With a little glue and patience my tags were complete and ready for the post office.
I know what you must be thinking. "Those are Christmas cards?" Well, no but yes. They're Christmas cards ala Stampmaiden. I'm a lost soul when it comes to card making. Put a blank folded card in front of me and I don't know where to begin. I get a little further with a piece of cardstock because at least I know how to fold it in half. Sadly, that's as far as I get. I need direction when it comes to creating a card of any kind. BUT put a blank tag or blank ATC card in front of me and I get right down to business. Paint is something I feel very comfortable with and with little effort on my part, Christmas tags were created. A little stamping and embellishing was all that was needed to finish them off. Yes a little time consuming and different, but well worth the extra effort.

These are beautiful. Very artisticly done! The lucky people who receive them will love them!!!
And good to find you here again!
OK comadre, but what glue you use for all those thingies??? No a stick glue!
They look like the perfect Christmas cards to me!!!
The proces you explain looks similair to when I make a mandala. Give me a circle the rest will follow. Give me a blanco paper and I have a hard time before I get an idea.......
Linda I hope you will have a wonderful Xmas and a happy and healthy New Year with less worries and cares.

Thank you Lynn! It's good to "see" you too!
Christina, I do use a glue stick for anything paper but for fabric bits or hanging elements I use 3 in 1 clear glue by Beacon. It holds whatever you glue in place.
Marianne, they look like Christmas cards to me too! LOL! Is it OK to say we're both clueless when we work outside our element? And is that OK or should we be pushing our limits? sigh. I'm not ready for that. LOL!
Linda
oh wow lin, these are so you, so fabadabadoo. love them, so will the people who get them too. isn't it grand to just sit in your pjs and enjoy life for a while, with no school for two weeks??? this is heaven! wishing you and yours all a very merry xmas, to your mom and dad renewed health, and to you a very happy and creative 2010.
You bet they are worth the extra effort. I think they are outstanding. Anyone would be delighted to receive one of these. Good to see you are finding time to do some creating during this busy time. I hope you and yours are healthy. Merry Christmas.
Thank you Soul! It's beyond fabuloso (the spanish version of fabadabadoo!) to have extra time to myself. Sleeping in is the best especially during the cold season. I'm looking forward to the remaining days of 2009 and tamale making!
Linda
Thanks Lisa! It feels good to have a little extra time to take care of what makes me happy. Have a wonderful holiday season and happy 2010!

Thanks and welcome to Stampmaiden's Artventures, Mary Helen! And thanks for the compliment on my tags. I usually become attached to things I make but it felt good to send these tags off. Just knowing that they'll excite and surprise someone was worth letting them go. Hope to see you again!
Linda
They are gorgeous as usual! I love the tags I have received from you this past year. In person they are even more beautiful because I can feel them. I LOVE texture!
Thanks for the compliment, Sherry! I do make a lot of these don't I? LOL!
Linda
Thanks for my Frida tag. I always love the artwork that you send me, since the first ATC. Thanks.

Oh these are wonderful Linda, I just love them and so will the recipients I'm sure. I made a big collage this year then chopped it up to make cards and it worked pretty well. Your tags are a great idea. You can hang them on the Christmas Tree!
