Altered Artventures of Past

This is the inside front cover of my Beatle altered book. I used black brads to hold the screen in place.

I have a collection of black and white Beatle pics and went with those tones on my pages.

It was always advised to place a page of "rules" in your altered book to give participants ideas to help them get started in your book. Sorry about the blurred words.

Here's the sign in section. I always liked to have tags for players to art up rather than a page to sign into. These were just as fun to look at as the pages themselves.

Before I was into journaling, inchies and ATCs, I was into altered books. I played in several round robins with various themes and couldn't wait to get my book back after being on the road for several months. Yes, sometimes it would take almost a year before I saw my "baby" again. There was an unfortunate incident when my beloved "Retro" book was lost. When I realized I was never going to get this fun and awesome book back, I became angry and then sadness quickly took over. I eventually, but reluctantly, joined other rr's which brought me excitement and all seemed well once more.
I thought I'd share a few pages from my Beatle altered book with you. Click on the pages to get a closer look. I don't know if altering books and round robins are as popular as they once were when I was participating in them, but I'm glad I had the chance to play and learn from others.

I love this altered book! I participated in many RR for many different kinds of books. Most of them went well. Even when I was the host of one we had participant that didn't play nicely and some books were lost. Getting names, phone numbers and address didn't really help when she wouldn't respond. :( Bea

Thanks, Bea. I think I remember you being hostess to a few trades/swaps from another group we belonged to.
Thanks, Teri. You can do an altered book on cacti!
Soul, I can see you doing this! I sent you an e-mail. Too long to explain here. :)

Wow, what an amazing thing to do Linda. That altered book on the Beatles is brilliant. I am a great Beatles fan, a real teenager of the 60s and I bought each single as it came out and every LP too! Now I have them on CD too. How sad to lose one of your books though but what an adventure.

BT, I'm so envious! I have the CDs but only 2 albums. Plus, you grew up in England! What fun that must have been.

I think I spy a tag in the book that Mom made - am I right?
