Finding a pair of willing victims was not hard. Would you look at these oldies found at the bottom of my shoe pile?! Perfect for altering. No need to primer, smooth surface and will not be missed. Sorry Goodwill, you won't be getting these!
After a little paint, paper, adhesive and gems, my vision came together. I wonder what the kids will think? LOL!
What do you think? Besides the fact that I need a fresh pedicure - believe me, my toes will be just as sparkly as my new shoes, I'm extremely happy with my colorful shoes. I am so ready for Wednesday!
You too can have vibrant and colorful shoes. These were super easy to put together. I applied two coats of Folk Art Metallic paint in Blue Topaz. My choice of adhesives were Golden Soft Gloss Gel Medium for the paper on the heels and the birds along side of each shoe and Fabri-Tac clear glue for the sequins and leaves. The leaves each had a fine lined gold sticker from the Magenta collection placed on top of them. Super easy, super quick, super cheap and, I think, super cute!

Love, Love, Love 'em! And I love the metallic Folk Art acrylics too -- especially the blues!
I've been wanting to alter shoes for years now - and I just keep putting it aside. Definitely going to now, 'cos your shoes are way too cool -- and I want some too!!!
Thank you, Jill! I want to see your altered shoes too! This is something I've been wanting to do since I saw Linda Woods journaled sneakers. SOCOOL!
Linda
Oh, what a GREAT IDEA! I love the shoes. You know that would be a fund art party to have. Ask people to bring a pair of shoes to paint and alter. I hope you have a blast on Wednesday and I think the money that you raise is so important. :)Bea
Lovely! And what a fun day at school!
A yellow, blue, or green sparkly pedicure would look awesome with these!
Bea, thanks. I'm hoping that many children will take advantage of wearing colorful shoes and donating a dollar to a worthy cause.
Ms Lahtidah, I love your choice of nail polish colors. I do have a blue color in mind and I plan on putting a coat of clear glitter over that. It's all about the sparkle. LOL!
these are amazing..tee heee. what age do you teach? i do three days a week ages 4 and 5 year olds...
Oh Super fantastic. The kids will love them, they'll be trying to steal them from you. Well done you. I'm off to hunt for a pair of old shoes!! Oh, your nails will look wonderful too. You must take another photo when your feet are all 'done up'. Have a geat day. Oh, it's today, enjoy!
Did they like your shoes Linda??
